Our Area newsletter, El Farolito (“ELF”, as it is affectionately known 
) needs our help or its doors for printing and sending to groups could be closed after September. Even email subscriptions might have to be suspended after a couple of more months.
Below is pasted the announcement found in the July issue of ElF, and the link for the current issue.
WE can help: Attached is the subscription form which can be printed out and mailed in with a check for your group’s contribution, IF your group is able. Individual subscriptions are also welcome.
The aim of ElF has been that each group in the Area receive a print copy regardless of financial contribution. This helps reach out to more rural groups whose members may not have access to internet. As well, much work has been done this year on updating the ElF mailing list coordinating with our Area Registrar, Berna, and our new District 2 Registrar, Stacy– thank you for your service!
And a HUGE GRACIAS to Candy, our intrepid ElF Editor and Chair, who brought the newsletter back into service after the pandemic.
ElF is not funded by the Area but is dependent on our subscriptions to survive.
Let’s join together to save this valuable AA resource! And pay our fair shares as we are able!

From the July Elf issue:
“Out of 298 identified groups less than 24 groups have contributed to El Farolito in 2024. That equals about 8%.
The cost for Printing and Email is approximately $860 a month. Last month ELF received $264. For 2024 expenses stand at $5470, with contributions at $4117. Reserves are being depleted.
The projection is that if ELF continues at this rate of contributions there will not be enough for the print copies for the September.
Several GSRs have contacted me and are rallying groups to step up to contributing to ELF. I am grateful for them calling me to let me know. I sincerely appreciate those that are regular monthly contributes.

start publishing group names that are helping to support ELF.
These are the sad facts of ELF. It is my hope that DCM’s reach out to their groups and that ELF will continue.
