Maria – Step 10 – What it was like for me

Okay, so let me break it down for you, chico. The Tenth step, it’s like taking a daily inventory of your actions, ¿entiendes? It’s about staying honest with yourself and admitting when you mess up, porque we’re all human, you know? So, every day, I take a little time to reflect on my day, to think about how I’ve been living those principles we talk about in the program.

If I’ve hurt someone, if I’ve been dishonest, if I’ve let my temper get the best of me, I own up to it, right then and there. It’s like clearing the slate before things pile up, like sweeping the dust before it becomes a mess, ¿comprende? And let me tell you, it’s not always easy. Sometimes, admitting you’re wrong, it’s like swallowing a bitter pill, pero it’s necessary for my growth, for my sobriety.

And you know what, chico? It’s also about recognizing the good stuff too. Celebrating the little victories, the moments of kindness, the times when you’ve done right by yourself and others. It’s like filling up your cup with gratitude, with pride, with all the good stuff that keeps you going.

So yeah, that’s how I work my Tenth step, every day, one step at a time, one day at a time. It’s like checking the compass to make sure I’m still heading in the right direction, you know? And let me tell you, it’s been a game-changer for me, keeping me on track, keeping me honest, keeping me sober.
