Maria – Step 11 – What it was like for me

Alright, chico, let me tell you about the Eleventh step, porque this one, it’s like my lifeline, you know? So, it’s all about staying connected with that higher power, with whatever you believe in, through prayer and meditation. It’s like plugging into the energy source that keeps you going, that gives you strength when times get tough.

For me, it’s about starting my day with a little prayer, a little chat with my higher power, thanking them for another day of sobriety, asking for guidance and strength for the day ahead. It’s like setting the tone for the day, you know, like laying down the tracks before the train starts moving.

And then, throughout the day, I’ll take little moments to check in, to reconnect, to take a few deep breaths and center myself. It’s like pressing pause on the chaos of life and tuning into that still, small voice inside, the one that whispers words of wisdom and comfort.

And at night, before bed, I’ll take some time to reflect on my day, to think about the good stuff, the stuff I’m grateful for, and maybe ask for a little help with the stuff that’s been weighing on my mind. It’s like wrapping up the day with a little gratitude, a little humility, and a little hope for tomorrow.

So yeah, that’s how I work my Eleventh step, chico, staying connected, staying grounded, and staying grateful. It’s like keeping the lines of communication open with my higher power, porque let me tell you, they’ve got my back, even when things get rough.
